Junior Wolves defeated 7-4 by Royals

The Kal Tire Sudbury Junior Wolves were defeated by the Temiscaming Royals Wednesday night 7-4 at the Garson Arena in front of 160 fans.

Sudbury video news - Junior Wolves defeated 7-4 by Temiscaming Chris Kangas got on the board for the Junior Wolves in the first period with a shorthanded goal assisted by Luc Comtois.

The team entered the second period with a tied score of 1-1. The Royals added a marker to take the lead, followed by another goal by Kangas to even things out. The Royals added three more markers leading into the second intermission to leave the score 5-2 going into the final period.

Dusin Ryan and Erik Belanger hit the back of the net for the Junior Wolves, but the Royals swiped two more goals past netminder Joey Delwo to end the contest 7-4 for the Royals.

Kangas was awarded the third star of the night and is currently ranked second in the league for top scorers.

The team will hit the road Saturday night to take on the Abitibi Eskimos and will return to the Garson Arena Wednesday Feb. 4 to battle against the Blind River Beavers. Game time is 8 p.m.

The Junior Wolves currently sit in third place in the Eastern Division Standings.
