Junior Wolves lose in shoot-out

The Kal Tire Junior Wolves dropped a 3-2 decision to the Blind River Beavers Wednesday night at the local team's new arena in Garson.

The Kal Tire Junior Wolves dropped a 3-2 decision to the Blind River Beavers Wednesday night at the local team's new arena in Garson.

Over 200 spectators watched the Junior Wolves take a commanding 2-0 lead into the final eight minutes of the contest only to have Blind River score two unanswered goals in the dieing minutes of the third period to force overtime.

The Junior Wolves out shot Blind River 48-34 including 4-1 in overtime, however, it took six shooters aside before the Beavers claimed the shoot-out victory.

Jordan Cheechoo and Erik Belanger each had a goal and an assist for the Junior Wolves. Joey Delwo was solid once again in net for the Junior Wolves.

The Junior Wolves will take to the road on Friday to play the Manitoulin Islanders before returning home next Wednesday to host the first place Soo Thunderbirds at the Garson Arena at 8 a.m.
