Chris Kangas gave the Junior Wolves an early lead in the first period, but they tied the score heading into the second.

North Bay scored two unanswered goals in the second period to carry a commanding 3-1 lead into the final frame.

Rookie Erik Belanger scored for Sudbury, making it 3-2 in the third period, but North Bay scored the insurance marker with just over two minutes to play.

North Bay outshot Sudbury 32-24. Junior Wolves rookie goaltender Nick McMullen was named the game's second star.

The Junior Wolves will play two road games on the weekend in Temiscaming and North Bay before returning home on Wednesday to play the Temiscaming Royals at 7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Arena in Hanmer.
