The Kal Tire Junior Wolves held one of their most successful training camps last week when 35 players competed for one of the 20 spots on the Junior Wolves roster this season.

Veterans Jordan Cheechoo, Chris Pontes, Joey Delwo, Chris Kangas, Jordan
Kuruliak and Luc Comtoiswill lead the Jr. Wolves this season.

The veterans helped lead the Jr. Wolves to two exhibition victories over Manitoulin Islanders in a grueling five-day training camp held at the Walden and Sudbury arenas.

Also joining the team this year will be Adam Ritchie, a 1992 birth date who was affiliated with the Wolves' team last season. Ritchie is a draft choice of the Kitchener Rangers and has showed excellent development over the summer.

Players attending the OHL Wolves' camp that are expected to suit-up for the Junior Wolves this season are Jeff Verreault, goaltender Nick McMullen and defenceman Kyllian Kirkwood.

The Junior Wolves will be a younger team this season, but their youth could prove to be their biggest asset, with fast, skilled players to complement the returning group of leaders with championship experience.

The Junior Wolves will open the regular season in Abitibi on Saturday before returning home on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 at the Centennial Arena in Hanmer against the same Eskimos.
