The Bantam "AA" standings in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL) are likely to look different by the time that the Etobicoke Dolphins make up their four games in hand near the end of January.

For now, however, the Sudbury Lady Wolves are going to enjoy the view.

Coach Jay Duncan and the local girls are perched atop the LLFHL Central Division grouping, posting a record of 10-3-4 (24 points), just two ahead of the Dolphins (11-2-0).

The jump to first place came after another particularly busy sequence for the Lady Wolves, with four games jammed into a stretch of only slightly more than 24 hours last weekend.

The Sudbury crew got things started quickly enough, posting a 4-0 whitewash of the Toronto-Leaside Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at York University, with Allie Lumme, Jenna Lachance, Jaiden Duncan and Deseray Zazulak all pulling the trigger once each for the winners.

Goaltender Mireille Kingsley registered her sixth shutout of the LLFHL season, while Taylor Scott chipped in with a pair of assists. The northern squad continue to roll later that evening, blanking the Barrie Sharks on markers from Joelle Gagnon, Vanessa McKinnon and Scott.

Kingsley "one-upped" herself, adding an assist into her statistical mix to go along with a second straight clean slate. By Sunday at noon, the encounters were growing increasingly tight, as the Lady Wolves made it three for three with a 3-2 win over the North York Storm.

Zazulak paced the Sudbury attack with a two goal effort, with McKinnon netting the game winning goal, and Duncan adding a pair of helpers. The tank, unfortunately, was nearing empty by suppertime, as the Bantam "AA" reps dropped a 2-0 decision to the Aurora Panthers (9-4-2).

Only five regular season encounters remain on the schedule for the Lady Wolves, with the team taking care of four of those on the weekend of Jan. 14 and 15. Duncan and company will remain quite occupied, however, mixing in LLFHL playoffs with the qualifying process for the OWHA (Ontario Women's Hockey Association) Provincials, as they do battle with the fourth place North Bay Ice Boltz (7-6-4) for the right to represent the region in April.
