"I knew it was going to be a tough game and we just wanted to compete," said head coach Mike Clarke in a press release. "The team has suffered some injuries and personal issues in the last couple of days, but I am happy with their performance."

The personal issue Clarke was referring to was the passing of rookie Amanda McConnell's mother over the weekend.

As for the men, they dropped a tough 84-82 game to the Lions at the Ben Avery Gymnasium.

The top scorer from Laurentian was big Ben Palmer who dumped in 26 points.

The men also suffered a huge personal loss, as a former teammate, Colin Yates, was killed in a car accident on Friday, Dec. 3.
