Legends honoured by hall of fame

The Ontario Sport Legends Hall of Fame will induct three new members plus the World Series 1992 Toronto Blue Jays team at its annual dinner March 19 at the Toronto Sheraton Centre.
The Ontario Sport Legends Hall of Fame will induct three new members plus the World Series 1992 Toronto Blue Jays team at its annual dinner March 19 at the Toronto Sheraton Centre. Also at the dinner, Toronto Raptors' star Vince Carter is to receive the Hall of Fame Syl Apps Award as Ontario Athlete of the Year for 2001.

This year's inductees are:

* The legendary NHL referee Red Storey, who served 11 seasons as the NHL's most colourful official in the 1950s after an outstanding CFL career with the Toronto Argonauts.

* Hockey star Leonard "Red" Kelly who played as a defenceman with the Detroit Red Wings and later with the Maple Leafs. He played on four Stanley Cup winners with each club.

* Figure skater Donald Jackson who won a bronze medal at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Winter Games, followed by first place at the 1962 Prague World Championships where he turned the first-ever triple Lutz in competitive skating.
