Men's soccer

The men are quickly becoming the comeback story of the year in the OUA. After missing the playoffs last season, and starting the year with 15 rookies, the Voyageurs have been wreaking havoc on opposing teams all year. They have fashioned a current eight-game unbeaten streak, in which they have five wins and three ties, and are climbing up the standings and restoring the old Voyageurs' pride.

The men play Carleton University this Saturday in Ottawa. Game time is 1 pm. Laurentian sits fourth in the East Division with a record of 5-2-4.

The winning streak has the men feeling good.

Women's soccer

The Lady Vees have their work cut out for them as they take on two of the best teams in the OUA. On Saturday, they face Carleton, the third best team in the East Division. On Sunday, they take on the No. 2 ranked club in Canada, Ottawa University. The Lady Vees sit in fifth place in the East Division with a record of 4-2-6.

The Lady Vees suffered a huge blow, as they have lost veteran defender Melynda Roach for the season due to injury. Sally Parent has filled the void. Parent was injured her first two seasons with the club. She has been a rock this year.

Golf

The men hit the links of the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club, starting Sunday, Oct. 15, as they compete in the OUA Championships. The event runs until Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The team has enjoyed success this season, placing first at the Carleton Invitational and third at the Waterloo Invitational earlier this year.

Cross-country
The Lady Vees travel to Kingston to participate in the Queen's University Open on Saturday. This is a set up for the future OUA Championships, which will be held at Queen's on Oct. 28.

Basketball

Both the men's and women's teams will take to the court this Saturday for the annual alumni games. The women start at 1 pm. As of press time, no time had been set for the men's game. Check luvoyageurs.com for further updates.

Swimming

Both the men's and women's squads get wet this weekend as they partake in the Western Meet on Saturday in London, followed by a meet against Brock and Guelph on Sunday in St. Catharines.
