With 18 seconds remaining on the clock and the Laurentian Voyageurs' men's basketball team down by one, Matt Brown stepped up to the foul line, draining both his shots to give Laurentian a hard-fought 75-74 win over Bishop's Gaiters Saturday Oct. 28.

Bishop played a strong offensive game leading by four points at halftime. The pressure continued in the second half as Bishop went on an early nine-point run. The Voyageurs kept pace however, with several small scoring runs of their own.

"We really played tough, both mentally and physically," said Voyageurs' head coach Virgil Hill. "They were a hard team and we earned this victory."

Brown's late-game heroics capped off a strong performance for the Hemlock, Mich. native who recorded 19 points, five rebounds and shot five for eight from three-point territory.

The Voyageurs' next game comes Saturday Nov. 5 against Dalhousie at 8 pm in the Ben Avery Gymnasium.
