Northern Ontario curling champions Tim Phillips, Ron Collins, Drew Eloranta and Doug Hong are doing well at the Brier in Calgary.
As of Tuesday press time, the northern Ontario rink was the only unbeaten team at the Saddledome.
"It feels nice, real nice," said Phillips, who was the northern Ontario flag-bearer two years ago in Saskatoon.
"I'm making probably about 20 per cent more of my shots," he says. "I'm playing a more patient game, something I've learned being at the Brier and watching some of the past champs.
"It's a long week and I'm sure we're gonna get a few losses along the way," said the 37-year-old bartender. For more information, visit www.curling.ca
