Photos: Wolves heating up, beat Rangers in shootout for third straight win

First star Quinton Byfield has goal, two assists

Hoping to make it three wins in a row, the Sudbury Wolves welcomed the Kitchener Rangers to the Sudbury Arena on Sunday in what would be their earliest season match-up since 1997-98.

After a spirited match that went into a shootout, the pack came out on top with a 5-4 win. Star centre Quinton Byfield had a goal and two assists -- including a helper on Shane Bulitka's goal that tied up the game in the third period.

With neither team able to score in overtime, they headed into a shootout.

Sudbury’s Blake Murray managed to get the puck past Kitchener’s goalkeeper and a save by Wolves’ goalie Christian Purboo ended the match.
