The Greater Sudbury Police Service is hosting Sudbury's 4th Annual 'Law Enforcement Torch Run Toll' for Special Olympics on Saturday April 11 between 9-6 p.m.  The voluntary tolls will be conducted at the following exits: Costco (Barrydowne Road), Chapters, Winners, Home Sense and Boston Pizza.

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police, members of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Cambrian College Police Foundation students and Special Olympians, with their family and friends, will be on hand to receive the donations.

This is the 23rd anniversary for the Law Enforcement Torch Run and they hope to exceed the funds raised from this event last year which totaled over $16,800.  Since 1986 the Torch Run has raised in excess of $23 million dollars in the province of Ontario.  The Greater Sudbury Police are  hoping that this fundraising venture will continue to be, not only a community event, but a great success.

The police are asking for patience when exiting the shopping areas, as the volume of traffic on this holiday weekend will be heavy.
