For the record

In last week's weekend edition, it was stated former Lasalle star Amanda McDonald had scored 148 points and was averaging over 24 points-per-game (PPG). The OUA website has a glitch which is double the stats for Laurier players. The OUA issued no press release stating the technical problems. The problem had yet to be fixed as of press deadline. Northern Life apologies for any inconvenience. McDonald had 88 points in eight games, averaging 11 PPG.

 

Laurentian University

Basketball

The Lady Vees and Voyageurs hit the road this weekend for a pair of games. The teams take on Laurier and Waterloo on Friday and Saturday respectively. The women start at 6 pm, with the men going at 8 pm. The women are 4-3 and sit in third place in the East Division. They're 3-1 in their last four games. Cassandra Carpenter leads all scorers with 123 points and 17.6 PPG. The men are 1-5 and sit in sixth place in the East Division. They have dropped their last four games. Darrel Drake leads all scorers with 76 points and 12.7 PPG.

 

Cambrian College

Basketball

The men host Algonquin College on Saturday. Game time is 7 pm. It's the last game of the year for Cambrian until the New Year. Guard Mitch Mallette is having a banner year leading the league in scoring. Mallette had 254 points in his first 10 games, for an average of 25.4 PPG. Despite Mallette's scoring exploits, Cambrian is 3-7 and seventh in the East Division. The men have won two straight games.

 

Volleyball

The men and women's teams also wrap up their 2007 schedule with games in Seneca this weekend. The women, 3-4 and second in the Central East Division, play at 2 pm, with the men, who are 4-2 and first in the Central East Division, at 4 pm.

 

College Boreal

Volleyball

The men and women travel to Seneca College this Saturday for a pair of games. The men, 0-6 and in last place in the Central East Division, play at 8 pm. The women, 2-5 and in third place in the Central East, play at 6 pm.
