Competing on back to back weekends did little to slow down the Sudbury Synchro Club express.

Less than seven days after qualifying multiple athletes to the 2018 Ontario Winter Games thanks to their performance at the Lisa Alexander Figure Meet in Etobicoke, the Sudbury crew were back in the water in Kitchener-Waterloo.

More than 500 swimmers attended the event hosted at Wilfrid Laurier University, with the local showing highlighted by the silver medal finish (from a field of 19 teams) of the Sudbury 13-15 grouping of Bronwyn Ashley, Emily Binks, Maeve Caddel, Madison Hood, Sarah Ieropoli, Stacie Kohan, Amy Lacelle, Georgia Speck, Gillian Franklin, coached by Chelsea Wandziak.

With a championship score of 60.167, the northern girls were preceded in the standings only by the Durham Synchro Club (62.833). Also hitting the podium was the duet of Kohan and Speck (coach Courtney Stasiuk), garnering bronze medals just behind tandems from Kawartha Trent and Burlington.
Other noteworthy results included Amy Lacelle (13-15 solo), earning a fourth-place finish in her first year as a soloist, as well as the 13-15 duet teams of Binks/Ieropoli (5th of 24 - coach Lindsay Wandziak) and Hood/Lacelle (7th of 24 - coach Chelsea Wandziak).

The 11-year-old team of Julianne Crittenden, Heidi Fink, Sophia Flabiano, Rachelle Prevost and Amy Seguin were eighth (of 13), while teammates Lily Burns, Chloe Cholette, Emilie Ladouceur, Maxine Lafleur and Lana Squires (coach Candice Larochelle) were 10th in the same category. Competing as a soloist, Ladouceur also nabbed a 10th place in a field of 16.

Rounding out the Sudbury Synchro roster that competed was the 10 and under ensemble of Olivia Burke, Sarah Crittenden, Jessica Huggett, Eva Jessup, Lilliana MacIsaac and Justine Perron-Zathureczky, performing a routine in competition for the very first time.
