Sudbury Hockey Update

Former Sudbury Wolves sniper and assistant captain Bobby Chaumont has joined the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Former Sudbury Wolves sniper and assistant captain Bobby Chaumont has joined the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League (CHL).


Chaumont, born and raised in Sudbury, played four seasons with the Wolves in the OHL, recording 109 goals and 214 points in 272 games.

Chaumont, 21, attended Dalhousie University last season, playing for the Tigers hockey team.

Chaumont led the team in scoring, registering 12 goals and 23 points in 28 games as a university rookie player.

"He is a proven goal scorer," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski in a press release. "In his last two years of major junior hockey he scored 31 goals each season. Bobby has good size and great hands. He was one of my priority guys that I wanted to get this off-season. I am very happy that I got him signed to a contract."

Chaumont can't wait to start torching opposing goalies with his scoring touch. "I am very excited about coming to Laredo," said Chaumont in a news release. "
