Sudbury Sprinters bring home more hardware

The Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club continue their winning ways on the weekend as three of its racers finished on the podium at the Provincial Long Track Speed Skating Championships in Ottawa.

The Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club continue their winning ways on the weekend as three of its racers finished on the podium at the Provincial Long Track Speed Skating Championships in Ottawa.

Kaelyn Pitre won a silver medal at the meet while Stephan Ayotte, Amber Ranich and Emily Gaito took home bronze.

Ranich and Ayotte were named to provincial teams for the North American Age Class Long Track Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jan. 28 and 29, 2006. They were also named to Ontario teams for the Canadian Age Class Long Track Championships, Feb. 11 and 12, 2006, in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Other results included fifth place finishes for Kelsey Pitre and Alyssa Hreljac along with sixth place finishes for Caleb Laaper and Keegan Pitre. Matthew Laaper finish in seventh place.
