The Greater Sudburians are Good Sports
Exhibit is looking like a blast. The material coming in is
really beginning to look impressive.

Do you remember the Mine Mill
women's ball team and 1950 Northern Ontario Champions?
Join the Greater Sudburians are Great Sports party in
Copper Cliff next weekend. |
Many thanks to Bell Canada. They have backed
this event in a big way. Thanks to Bell Canada, the Stanley Cup
will be at McClelland Community Centre, Friday, June 3, from 10
am to 9 pm. The public will be able to view the cup and learn
some of its history.
The cup is only part of the exhibits being
sponsored by Bell Canada. They are also sponsoring the Hockey
Hall of Fame Legend's Exhibit. This exhibit, open next Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, is 2,000 square feet of cases housing the
most incredible array of memorabilia I have ever seen assembled
in one place.
The exhibit is broken up into eight sections.
Sudbury and Area is partially represented by a stick once owned
by the legendary Toe Blake.
From the NHL milestones section, you will be
able to see the stick that Maurice "The Rocket" Richard scored
his 200th goal. From the stars of Today section, you will be
able to see Mark Messier's skates. My favourite section is the
Team Canada section, which will include Marc-Andre Fleury's
mask.
The exhibit has a section just for Wayne
Gretzky. The two feature teams in the Legends exhibit are the
Boston Bruins and the Chicago Black Hawks.
