Imagine playing the links of the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club with some of the biggest names to ever play NHL hockey.

Local golfers are ready for the thrill of a lifetime as they prepare to hit the greens with the likes of Mike Foligno, Brian Savage, Troy Crowder and potentially Steve Sullivan, Bill Houlder and Scott Walker.

It's all part of the ninth annual Human League Association (HLA) NHL Legends of the Game Golf Tournament.

All the proceeds from the tournament go directly towards the HLA's two major programs, the PLAY Program and the Breakfast Club for Kids.

This year tournament is already sold out and takes place Thursday, June 1, starting at 10 am.

"Moving to the Idylwylde gives the tournament a bit more prestige and shows our commitment to the business community that we're putting on a first-rate show," said Cullen, executive director with the HLA.

As always, the tournament features fantastic prizes and a silent auction offering NHL and other major sports memorabilia.

"One of our big items for the silent auction is a signed Peter Forsberg Colorado Avalanche jersey," said Cullen.

During the actual tournament, players will have chances at $1 million if they get a hole-in-one on specific holes and Saturn of Sudbury has a hole-in-one win a car contest as well.

There will also be a big announcement at the event.

"This year will be a celebration of our 10th year assisting children and youth," said Cullen.

"We will also announce a new alliance with KidSport, a national organization with a provincial arm that helps raise awareness and money for our programs."
