Lance Adams and the Sudbury Five were in Kitchener-Waterloo on Dec. 30 to take on the Titans. In their second game with the Basketball Super League, the Five won 122-114.

Two days after winning their inaugural game as part of the Basketball Super League, the Sudbury Five were back in action in Kitchener-Waterloo on Dec. 30, chopping the Titans down to size by a score of 122-114.

Unfortunately, the box scores from the Basketball Super League were unavailable for this game, so details are limited.

In a bit of a twist, Five forward Jalen Hayes was back in Kitchener for the first time since signing with the Five in November, while Titan’s new forward Dexter Williams Jr. suited up against Five for the first time after spending the past four seasons in Sudbury.

Thanks to high-octane performances from the likes of AJ Mosby Jr. and Andrew Whitsett, among others, the Sudbury Five started off hot right out of the gate, converting on several chances and taking a 39-21 lead over the Titans after the first quarter.

The game would continue without Sam Daniel, though, who was ejected from the game after an altercation with one of the Titans players.

In the second quarter, Duane Notice and company continued the scoring touch for the Five, draining 30 more points while limiting the Titans to just 27 of their own to take a 21-point lead going into halftime, 69-48.

The Titans came out of the dressing room to start the second half looking to start a comeback and thanks to performances from players such as Jaquan Lightfoot and Juwan Miller, KW was able to take control of the game and take a slim 89-88 lead into the fourth quarter.

Thanks in part to a strong performance from Evan Harris in the final quarter, the Five closed out a win by a score of 122-114.

With the win, the Sudbury Five have started off the inaugural season of the Basketball Super League with two consecutive wins and hold a record of two wins and no losses.

The Five take to the court next for a pair of road games in Montreal against the Toundra. Those games are slated for Jan. 6-7, with start times of 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.
