Stephen Soutar and the rest of the team have their work cut out for them to make the 2005 playoffs.
With a 0-4-1 record, which has the team sitting in fourth place in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) North Division, the Voyageurs will be playing as hard this weekend in their last two regular season home games.

The Voyageurs square off against Ryerson University on Saturday, and play Guelph University on Sunday. Both games are at the Laurentian pitch and start at 3 pm.

With only three games left in the season before the playoffs, the Voyageurs are feeling the crunch.

"With our record, all games are important for us now," said head coach Carlo Castrechino.

The Voyageurs are currently tied with their northern rival from North Bay, Nipissing University, for the last playoff spot in the OUA East. The Voyageurs play Nipissing once more this season (the last game of the regular season), but don't want to leave it to a one-game showdown for the final berth.

The team will welcome back key injured players this weekend, including all-star Giuseppe Politi.

The Voyageurs will also rely on the steady goaltending by Ryan Bradley this weekend.

"Ryan has made some big saves for us this season and it will need to continue, especially with our inexperienced defence," said Castrechino.
