The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce
the monthly award winners for the month of December.
The Molson Canadian Three-Star Award goes to
Wolves, forward Nick Foligno. The forward was named a game star
five times in December - including four first-star
honours.
Foligno has vaulted past Ben Pouliot to
assume the Wolves, team scoring lead with 40 points, including
14 goals. The 18-year-old is a highly touted draft selection
for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The six-foot, 190-pound centre made it two
awards in a row by capturing the Fiorino's at The Port
Player of the Month Award. Foligno scored seven goals and added
nine assists for 16 points in 11 games in December.
Foligno will receive an Arnold Brant
Performance suit from John Fiorino of The Port clothing store
on Elm Street.
Keaton Turkiewicz is the Travelodge Hotel
Sudbury Community Service Award winner. Turkiewicz volunteered
his time in December by attending public events on behalf of
the Wolves organization. The rookie receives a gift package
courtesy of Carla Lacelle and the Travelodge Hotel
Sudbury.
Defenceman Troy Murray is the Campbell's
Scholastic Player of the Month. Murray continues to lead the
Wolves scholastically with the highest academic standing at
Laurentian University.
Murray recently completed an independent
learning course with a 92 percent final mark. Murray will
receive his Campbell's Chunky Soup Scholastic Award from
Bill Nurmi Jr. of Campbell's on Friday, Jan. 13.
