Sudbury then held on to beat the Windsor Spitfires 4-3 on Sunday at the Sudbury Arena.

The two wins pushed the Wolves regular season record to 29-25-1-5, good for 64 points.

The Wolves sit fourth in the Central Division and seventh overall in the Eastern Conference.

On Sunday, the Wolves built up a 3-0 lead by the end of the second period thanks to goals by Gary Friesen, Kevin Baker and Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn.

The lead evaporated in the third period though, much to the chagrin of the 5,691 fans in attendance.

Windsor got life, when Peter Aston scored midway through the third period.

Baker seemed to seal the game when he popped an empty net goal with just 38 seconds left in the game.

Just 15 seconds later, Mickey Renaud scored to make it 4-2.

Then 21 seconds later, Mitch Maunu bulged the twine to make it 4-3.

Windsor's come back fell short as there was only two seconds left after that goal and they were unable to penetrate the Sudbury net, much to the relief of the fans, one last time.

The Wolves next game is Friday, March 3, when they face their Northern rival, Sault Ste. Marie at the Sudbury Arena. Game time is 7:30 pm.
