Wolves defeated by Battalion 4-0

The Sudbury Wolves played the back end of the home and home Thankgiving series in Brampton on Monday. Despite an impressive outing by goaltender Andrew Loverock the Wolves lost this contest by a score of 4 to 0.

The Wolves were coming off a 4-3 victory against the Battalion Saturday evening at the Sudbury Arena.

Tensions from the third period of Saturday's game carried over into the first period of this contest as the teams were involved in four altercations before the seven minute mark of the first period.

The Wolves were without Eric O'Dell, who was serving a suspension for his fighting major on Saturday night.

The Battalion opened the scoring with two goals in the first period - one goal from Michael Hasson and the second by Jason Dale.

The Wolves got into more penalty trouble in the second and third periods, and the Battalion took full advantage with power play goals by Scott Tanski and Jason Dale, his second on the afternoon.

Sudbury Wolves netminder Andrew Loverock made 47 saves in the losing effort, trying to keep the team in the game. Battalion goaltender Brandon Foote faced 16 shots to earn the shutout victory.

The Wolves return home to the Sudbury Arena on Friday, October 17 when they host the Peterborough Petes. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
