In what turned out to be a back and fourth game, the Wolves dropped a close 6-5 decision to the Saginaw Spirit on Friday night.
The Wolves fell behind early as Saginaw opened the scoring on
Jan Mursak's power play goal. Justin Donati's 30th of the year
tied the game at one heading into the second period.
The second would see Sudbury jump out to a 3-1 lead on a goal by Devin Didiomete and a power play marker from Kevin Baker. Saginaw brought it back to within one on a goal from newcomer Cody Bass before tying the game on Patrick McNeill's power play goal.
Down by three goals with just 4:20 remaining, the Wolves continued to battle as Gerome Giudice scored with less than four minutes left. Nick Foligno then brought the Wolves to within one with just 15 seconds remaining but that is as close as they would come.
