Hooked on a breakaway, Wolves forward Alex Pharand capitalized on the resulting penalty shot, but it wasn't enough to give Sudbury the win. The team fell 6-4 on the road to the Owen Sound Attack on March 17.

There was no luck of the Irish for the travelling Sudbury Wolves who played a spirited, but ultimately losing, game against the Owen Sound Attack on St. Patrick’s Day.

The Wolves found themselves down early in this one, as Colby Barlow scored his 35th goal for the Attack just 16 seconds into the game to give Owen Sound a very early 1-0 lead.

The Wolves tried everything they could to put the puck past George in the next several minutes, but didn’t have any luck, and as a result, the Attack made the game 2-0 with a goal from Servac Petrovsky, his 18th goal of the season, with 4:36 remaining in the first period.

With 3:59 remaining in the period, the Wolves got on the board thanks to Quentin Musty’s 38th goal of the season, making the score 2-1 for Owen Sound.

With just two seconds remaining in the first, Sudbury Wolves’ forward Alex Pharand was hooked while on a breakaway, and scored on the ensuing penalty shot, making the score 3-2 for Owen Sound after the first 20 minutes of play.

At 2:09 of the second period, Kocha Delic scored his 24th goal of the season for Sudbury to tie the game 3-3.

With 9:23 remaining in the middle frame, the Wolves took a 4-3 lead thanks to Musty’s second goal of the game. With one period remaining, the Sudbury Wolves led the Owen Sound Attack by a score of 4-3.

Barlow completed a hat trick some 52 seconds into the third period to tie the game up for the Attack, 4-4.
