Wolves face off with division foes this weekend

Colts and Steelheads visit Sudbury Friday and Saturday

It's a busy weekend for the Sudbury Wolves as they face off against the Barrie Colts on Friday and the Mississauga Steelheads on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night's game sees the return of Sudbury Saturday Night, and once again, the Shaft Bottom Boys will take the ice during second intermission. The Sudbury Wolves host divisional rivals the Barrie Colts and Mississauga Steelheads at home this weekend as they continue to fight to secure a playoff spot. 

The Wolves kick off their week tonight when they host the Barrie Colts at 7 p.m. and will hit home ice once again on Saturday for the annual Vale Sudbury Saturday Night against the Mississauga Steelheads at 7 p.m. 

The Wolves will then travel to Mississauga on Sunday to complete a home and home series with the Steelheads at 2 p.m.

The Colts are led by second-year forward Lucas Chiodo, who currently leads the Colts in both goals and points with 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points in 56 games. Just behind Chiodo is overage forward Anthony Stefano who has 18 goals and 26 assists on the season.

Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. for fans who are interested in taking in the True North Strong Event Centre presentation prior to the game. Presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Fans interested in attending can register here.

The Wolves and Steelheads will kick off a home-and-home series Saturday. The Steelheads are led by highly ranked NHL prospect Owen Tippett, who sits third in the OHL in goals with 39 and 10th in the league in points with 68. The Steelheads roster also features New Jersey Devils prospect Michael McLeod and overage goaltender Matthew Mancina.

Saturday is Vale Sudbury Saturday Night. Fans will receive free Vale toques upon entrance to the game. 

Catch the spectacular Science North science experiment in the first intermission and don’t miss the Shaft Bottom Boys in the second as they make their return to the Sudbury Arena.

Tickets for both games are still available. However, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early for Saturday’s game as there is limited seating available.
