The Sudbury Wolves claimed a 9-1 victory at the Sudbury Arena Friday night, over Western Conference rivals, the Owen Sound Attack.

It was a team effort for the pack, who had seven different goal scorers contribute to their massive victory over the Attack. Macauley Carson and Liam Ross earned first and second stars of the game, while 24 saves by David Bowen earned him third star. Final shots on goal were 43-25 in favour of Sudbury.

The Wolves wasted no time setting the pace of the game, scoring three games in the opening frame in an offensive attack led by Blake McConville. McConville wired in a wrist shot to claim his third goal of the season, not long before Carson scored his 14th goal of the season to bring the Wolves lead to two.

Nearing the end of the period, Wolves' Jack Thompson beat Andrew MacLean five-hole to bring the Wolves' lead to three. With less than two minutes left in play, Attack's Maksim Sushko scored what would prove to be Owen Sounds only goal of the game.

Early in the second, Wolves' Adam Ruzicka raced off a breakaway to beat MacLean low blocker side, proving there was no slowing down for these Northern boys. Blake Murray was one to catch this momentum, extending the Wolves lead by one with a pass by Carson from behind the net.

With 0.1 seconds on the clock, Shane Bulitka fired one in to make it a 5-1 game moving into the final frame.

The Wolves were not about to let a lead keep them from performing at their best, scoring an additional three points by Darian Pilon, Carson and Bulitka in the third, to claim a 9-1 final.

The Wolves welcome the Oshawa Generals at 7:05 p.m. tonight, for their final visit to the Sudbury Arena.
