Wolves looking to feast on three opponents this weekend

It's a big weekend for the Sudbury Wolves.

On Friday, the Wolves host their divisional rival, the Barrie Colts. Game time is 7:30 pm.

There will be a special presentation before the game at 7:15, which will see Hockey Canada pay tribute to the 1938 Sudbury Wolves senior hockey team that won the World Hockey Championship in 1938.

A championship banner will be raised to the rafters of the Sudbury Arena, as well as jersey presentations to family members of of the players.

Both the Wolves and the Colts are in a heated battle over the fourth and fifth spots in the Central Division. Sudbury is fourth with 57 points, while Barrie has 56 points.

The two clubs have split the season series so far, with each winning two games, while tying the other contest.

Rafal Martynowski (one goal, four assists) and Ben Pouliot (three goals, two assists) each have five points against the Colts so far this season.

The Wolves then host Oshawa in Saturday for the first Inco Sudbury Saturday Night regular season home game in the club's history. Game time is 7 pm.

Every fan attending will receive a free Wolves' winter scarf. Fans are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the game in support of the Sudbury Food Bank.

There will also be 150 Sudbury Wolves Inco Sudbury Saturday Night t-shirts given away to lucky fans.

Sudbury has the advantage against Oshawa in the season series with two wins and one loss.

Martynowski (three goals, one assist), Pouliot (two goals, two assists) and Marc Staal (four assists) each ave four points against the Generals in the three previous games.

The Wolves then hit the road for a road game against Toronto on Sunday. Fans can catch all the action live by tuning into 790 CIGM with Stu Kernan calling the play-by-play.
