The Sudbury Wolves dropped another on the road on Sunday, losing 7-4 to the Ottawa 67s.

The team described the game as an intense and back-and-forth affair. Despite hanging tough, the loss moves the Wolves to 2-4-0 on the season.

Chase Stillman notched two goals in the game, while rookie Payton Robinson picked up his first OHL goal. Between the pipes, Mitchell Weeks stopped 45 of 51 Ottawa shots, and even picked up an assist.

The 67s opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game, and then scored again about 10 minutes later to take an early 2-0 lead. Late in the frame, Robinson picked up his inaugural OHL goal to make it a 2-1 game for Ottawa.

That wouldn’t last though, and Ottawa would pick up another goal before the period was out.

The second period dawned with Sudbury down 3-1, but just a minute into the period, Ottawa would score again to make it a 4-1 game.

Then, on the power play, Stillman grabbed the puck in the Wolves zone and took off down the boards, and fired off a shot from a tough angle to make it a 4-2 game.

Early in the third, Wolves’ Evan Konyen would score again to make it a 4-3 game, and suddenly it seemed Sudbury was back in it.

Ottawa was having none of it though. Ottawa made it a 6-3 game by notching two markers in fairly quick succession about halfway through the period. Stillman answered back for the Wolves with about seven minutes left to play to make it a 6-4 game.

It wouldn’t be enough though. Ottawa would add another on the Wolves empty net late in the period to make it a 7-4 final score.

The Pack conclude their early season six-game road swing in the Sault on Oct. 20, taking on the Greyhounds for their second meeting this season.
