The Sudbury Wolves have announced Monday two rosters moved after the team opened the season last weekend.

“Forward Dawson Baker has been reassigned to Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL,” the team said in a news release.

Baker was selected by the Wolves in the fourth round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

He “has had an outstanding start to his OHL career,” the release said. “This move will allow the 16-year-old to further develop his game with increased ice time with the Hawks. The Wolves intend to use Dawson on a call-up basis throughout the season.”

The Wolves also announced they have released defenceman Brandon Bastasin, who has returned home and is awaiting further assignment from the club.

The team now has 22 players as they prepare for two home games this weekend.

On Friday night, the Wolves host the Barrie Colts at 7 p.m. at Sudbury Arena. On Sunday afternoon at 2, the Kitchener Rangers will make their only appearance in Sudbury this season.
