Sudbury Wolves forward Kocha Delic picked up four goals in the team's 7-1 trouncing of the Oshawa Generals.

The Sudbury Wolves were hungry for a win when they hit the ice at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa on Dec. 18 to take on the Generals.

The Pack jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back, skating to a major 7-1 win. They outshot Oshawa 40-29 and beat them on the faceoff, too, winning 34 to the Generals’ 27.

Sudbury was slightly better on the power play, as well, going two-for-five to Oshawa’s one-for-six.

The win improves the Pack’s record to 10-16-3-0, good enough for ninth in the OHL’s Eastern Conference and 19th overall. The Generals’ record is only slightly better at 11-14-1-3, which sees them sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference and 17th overall.

Sunday’s game in Oshawa was scoreless until late in the first. At 18:42, Kocha Delic scored his sixth of the season (assists, David Goyette and Quentin Musty) to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead.

The Pack would add another about halfway through the second after Matthew Mania and Nick DeGrazia set up Landon McCallum on the power play, who scored his fifth of the season to make it a 2-0 Wolves game.

Starting at 13:08 of the second, the Pack went on a tear, scoring three goals in five minutes.

At 13:08, Alex Assadourian made good on a set up from Djibril Touré and Dylan Robinson, and scored his third of the season.

With the Pack up 3-0, Kocha Delic would score his second of the game at 15:41, assisted again by Goyette and Musty, and Sudbury was up 4-0.

Then, at 18:30 of the second, Mania would score his fourth of the season, assisted by Evan Konyen and André Anania, and the Wolves were up 5-0.

Oshawa would finally get on the board with just five seconds remaining in the second. Luca D’Amato would score his second of the season, assisted by Ryan Gagnier and Brett Harrison, to give the Generals their only goal of the game.

With the Wolves up 5-1 going into the third, Oshawa was faced with a deep hole to climb out of. Unfortunately for the Generals, Sudbury wasn’t about to let that happen.

Despite added pressure from Oshawa that saw them outshoot the Wolves for the first time in the game, Sudbury didn’t back down. At 14:38 of the third, Delic would complete his hat trick, assisted by Nolan Collins and David Goyette, to make it a 6-1 Wolves game.

Then at 17:59 while on the power play, Delic would score his fourth of the game (assists, Goyette and Jacob Holmes) to put a bow on it, and the Wolves won 7-1.

Sudbury is now on their Christmas break. The team is back in action on Dec. 28 on the road in North Bay to take on the Battalion at Memorial Gardens. Puck drops at 7 p.m. for that match.
