As OHL brass prepare their teams for the playoffs, Sudbury Wolves head coach and general manager pulled the trigger on three deals Jan. 9.

In a deal with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors, Foligno acquired Justin Donati and a fourth round pick in 2007 in exchange for Jesse Messier, Justin Vaive, a sixth round pick in 2008 and a 15th round pick in 2008.

In 35 games this season, Donati has scored 26 goals and 56 points with the Majors.

After picking up Donati, 20, the Wolves found themselves with four overage players, one more than the OHL limit. GM Foligno solved this problem by sending overage goaltender Kevin Beech to the Erie Otters in exchange for a 14th round pick in 2007.

The search for another goaltender led Foligno to his third trade of the day, sending a fourth round pick in 2007 to the Sarnia Sting in exchange for Sebastian Dahm.

Dahm, 19, is in his second year in the league and has a 3.23 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.
Both Donati and Dahm will travel to Mississauga to meet the rest of the team as they prepare to take on the Ice Dogs Jan. 10.

With Dahm in the lineup, the Wolves are now carrying three import players. Since the league limit is two, either Dahm, Patrik Lusnak or Jakub Korinek will have to be moved before the deadline.

The trade deadline for overage players is Jan. 10 at noon while the deadline for other players is at 6 pm that same day.
