Following an 8-2 thrashing on home-ice at the hands of the Barrie Colts Friday (Oct. 27), the Sudbury Wolves vented their frustrations by invading enemy rinks and beating the Peterborough Petes 5-3 and the Brampton Battalion 7-4.

After the back-to-back-to-back games, Sudbury sits in third place in the Central Division with a 9-7-0-1 record.

After allowing four goals in less than four minutes in the early stages of the third period and five goals on 24 shots, Wolves' tender Kevin Beech was pulled in favour of Michael Swick, who came in and allowed three goals on 12 shots.

Nick Foligno and Kevin Baker scored the only goals for the Wolves.

On Saturday, the Wolves, back-stopped by Swick, bounced back and beat the Petes 5-3 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. Swick went the distance and made 34 saves on 37 shots for his first career OHL victory.

Jonathan D'Aversa, Devin DiDiomete, Matt Dias, Jesse Messier and Foligno each scored a goal against Petes goalie Trevor Cann.

Swick was quick to attain his second career OHL win Sunday when he replaced the struggling Beech, who allowed five goals in less than 29 minutes. With 15 saves in the second and third periods, Swick gave his team the opportunity to get back in the game.

The Wolves responded and exploded for five goals in the second and two more in the third to win the game 7-5. Foligno and DiDiomete each netted a pair while Baker, Messier and JK Gill added singles.

The Wolves next game in Nov. 3 at the Sudbury Community Arena when the Erie Otters come to town. Game time is 7:30 pm.
