The Sudbury Yacht Club marked its 50th anniversary at its Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner at the Idylewylde Golf and Country Club this past weekend.
Founded in 1957, the club is a familiar Sudbury landmark and has, for many years, enhanced the beauty of the view of Ramsey Lake from Science North. 
"The Sudbury Yacht Club has produced many distinguished sailors," says Rick Cooper, the current commodore. 
"We have introduced several generations of Sudburians to sailing.  Our members, past and present,  have competed and cruised all over the world, and  we are proud of the contribution we have made to the sporting history of the city.  We welcome anyone with an interest in sailing to join us."
