TJ Gobbo is a winter problem solver. As the owner/operator of Gobbo Plowing & Sanding, his goal is to make the duration of your winter experience, whether it is getting out of the driveway to go to work or operating a business, as easy as possible.

“There are enough daily stressors in life and worrying about losing profits in a business due to a snow storm or how to get out of, or into, your driveway shouldn’t be one of them,” he says. “I want to make my clients lives easier by removing one of these concerns.”

Although it is still early in the season and in a year that has brought great unpredictability in so many aspects of life, Gobbo says now is the time to establish a strategy in terms of how you plan on getting through winter’s offerings. Gobbo grew up in Coniston, and now lives in Sudbury, so he knows how unpredictable the weather can be in Northern Ontario. Typically, the winter season in snow removal runs from November 1 to April 30.

“People will sometimes manage on their own until one of those major snowstorms hits and then end up having to wait for services due to availability,” says Gobbo. “For anyone who commits to us by contract, we’re equally committed to getting their space open and accessible as quickly and safely as possible.”

Gobbo Plowing & Sanding provides commercial or residential plowing and sanding services to the Greater Sudbury Area. Gobbo says that the only contract requirement is that there is a minimum of 5 cm of accumulated snowfall on the ground. And for those milder days that pop up during the winter creating icy surfaces, he also offers salt/sand services which add excellent melting properties and traction aid to high traffic areas creating a safer environment to all.

Gobbo Plowing & Sanding is fully insured and provides a liability certificate to all seasonal contract holders. “It’s surprising how often you hear of such a key item in the snow industry being overlooked until an incident happens. Majority of people seem to focus on the smaller picture of a cheaper price and don’t even inquire about liability and protection until I bring it up. Six months is a long time to be wagering such a high risk gamble on your investment.” Says Gobbo

“For our residential customers, we’re now offering the continued option of a seasonal flat rate or we can now do Plow and Sand on-demand where customers only call us when they need us and pay on a per-visit basis,” he says.  “We use a sticker-card system where, after every five visits of service calls, your sixth visit is free.”

He is also offering company toques and mugs for repeat customers. First-time callers qualify for a complementary lanyard.

“We really pride ourselves on doing a professional, quality job,” says Gobbo. “We practice safety protocols and respect our clients need for timely service.”

Gobbo Plowing & Sanding is available 24 hours a day and has a fleet of plow trucks, sanders and heavy equipment. They can be reached at 705-280-0993 or online at www.gobboplowing.com. They can also be followed on Facebook and Instagram. For anyone planning ahead for 2022, Gobbo also has a property division which offers backhoe services, landscaping and construction.
