The 2022 Subaru Ascent is the perfect 3-row, midsize SUV for families who thrive on adventure. It is the largest vehicle offered by the brand.

Already known for its performance, reliability, safety and value, you’ll find lots of space in this latest edition, with a generous interior that includes seating for seven passengers. The Ascent offers a supremely comfortable ride and lots of cargo space as well.

It’s the perfect crossover vehicle for family road trips, weekend tournaments, treks to the cottage, the lake and camping. It delivers all-road and all-weather capability and handling prowess that is completely unexpected from your typical 3-row SUV.

“The new Onyx edition really emphasizes the fun in a 7-passenger SUV, always keeping with the legendary Subaru quality, durability, reliability and safety,” says Lynn Renaud, General Sales Manager at Palladino Subaru.

Drivers are sure to feel confident on the road, thanks to the standard Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD system, the standard X-MODE® off-road chassis setting, ample ground clearance and a fully independent suspension system. This means you’ll get unbeatable traction, hill descent control and even more protection when you’re towing a trailer.

The Ascent is also equipped with several standard safety features, including the award-winning Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology with Lane Centring Assist. There’s also a seat-belt reminder and steering-responsive LED headlights with high-beam assist.

New for 2022 is the striking Onyx edition. It features blacked-out trim, 20-inch alloy wheels that are black, as well as black exterior side mirrors, front grille and other exterior components. On the inside, there are black accents as well, including a new seat covering material called StarTex—it is durable, water-repellant and easy to clean.

Other great features include keyless access with a push-button start, a power tailgate, a heated steering wheel and automatic reverse braking. For those who want even more luxury, the Premier Ascent is available which offers features like built-in navigation, a smart rear-view mirror, ventilated front seats and rain-sensing wipers.

The 2022 Ascent offers 260 hp @ 5,600 rpm, a sizeable cargo area with 2,435 L capacity, a free three-year trial subscription to SUBARU STARLINK® Connected Services on most models, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function.

There are also options on certain models that include an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with GPS navigation. It includes a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon® audio system, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with Travel Link® and Traffic—a free three-month trial subscription is included—Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility as standard, and Bluetooth connectivity.

With this mid-generation update for the popular SUV, the darker colours, accents and tones highlight the vehicle’s sophistication. The look is decidedly more dramatic, and many admire its exclusive black exterior finish and Ascent badging.

Even better? If you’re looking for fuel efficiency, this impressive vehicle will get up to 804 km on a single tank of gas.
