PICKLE LAKE -- An overnight fire that forced the closure of Highway 599 in Pickle Lake has led to arson charges.

Ontario Provincial Police officers were called following reports of two tractor trailers on fire in a truck park area.

When they arrived, they also found a garage fully engulfed in flames.

Efforts to save the building and the vehicles were unsuccessful.

The highway remained closed until crews were able to bring the fires under control.

An investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old Mishkeegogamang First Nation man.

He's been charged with arson, possession of property obtained by crime under five thousand dollars and assaulting a police officer.
