If you thought a special weather statement about snowfall issued yesterday by Environment Canada for Timmins, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls areas means Sudbury is off the hook, think again.
The statement warned the communities north of Sudbury that occasional showers were predicted to change into to periods of snow overnight into early this morning. This could, the forecast warned mean up to 5 cm of snow expected by this afternoon for communities near Timmins and Cochrane, and potentially slippery roads.
Greater Sudbury won't escape the white stuff either; it's just might take a little longer to get here.
Environment Canada is predicting a 40 per cent chance of flurries overnight tonight and a low of zero. The clouds will stick around Thursday, with a high of only six and a chance of flurries for the afternoon, and a 30-per-cent chance of flurries overnight.
The chance of flurries continues on Friday during the day and continuing overnight.
Oh well, I guess we couldn't put Old Man Winter off forever, eh?
