Updated April 4 at 7:45 a.m.

The highway was fully reopened as of around 1:45 a.m. April 4, according to Ontario 511.

Original story:

Weather has closed another area road.

Highway 144 is closed at the Highway 101 intersection and The Watershed (Highway 560). It's due to the weather conditions and commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) stuck on the roadway, said OPP on social media around noon today (April 3)

There are no detours.

It means that all of the main roads west of Timmins are closed.

Earlier today, all lanes of Highway 101 were closed from the Highway 144 turnoff to Wawa, according to 511.

The weather conditions have also closed Highway 129 between Chapleau and Thessalon and Highway 17 between Wawa and Batchawana Bay.

Police remind drivers that driving on a closed highway may result in a $110 fine and three demerit points.
