Hit TV series 'Outlander' is casting in Northern Ontario this weekend

Casting takes place in Sudbury on Saturday and North Bay on Sunday

Want to meet Outlander's Claire and Jamie in real life? The hit TV show is looking to cast Northern Ontario indigenous actors this weekend. (Supplied)

The TV series Outlander is seeking dozens of Northern Ontario indigenous actors and actresses to help them re-create an 18th Century Indigenous village as part of season 4 of the series. 

Casting will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Clarion Hotel in Greater Sudbury (117 Elm St.). On Sunday, March 4, casting moves to the Indigenous Friendship Centre on Cassells Street in North Bay from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Lisa Parasyn Casting stated in its casting information release that they are looking for 70 young indigenous actors, 10 older indigenous actors, 25 indigenous women and 10 to 15 indigenous children aged 7 or older.

The casting company is also offering to fly the actors/actresses to Scotland in May and June as part of the film shoot.  

No experience is required, but all interested applicants must have a valid Canadian Passport along with a Status Card.

Outlander is a British-American television drama series based on the historical time travel Outlander series of novels by Diana Gabaldon. Developed by Ronald D. Moore and produced by Sony Pictures Television and Left Bank Pictures for Starz, the show premiered on August 9, 2014. It stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a married World War II nurse who in 1945 finds herself transported back to the Scotland of 1743, where she encounters the dashing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and becomes embroiled in the Jacobite risings.

Outlander has previously been nominated for multiple Gold Globe and Emmy Awards.
