Cocaine and cash seized during drug bust in Sturgeon Falls

Police say they executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Third Street residence.

West Nipissing police took a lot of drugs off the streets of Sturgeon Falls in the early hours of Saturday.

In a news release, police say they executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a Third Street residence.

During a search of the residence, police found and seized:

  • in excess of 200 grams of suspected cocaine,
  • a large amount of Canadian currency,
  • a digital scale,
  • telephones and
  • packaging materials.

The potential street value of the drugs is estimated to be $20,000.

A 63-year-old Sturgeon Falls man now faces charges of:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking,
  • possession of a controlled substance and
  • possession of property obtained by crime.

A 39-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman also faces one charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in court in December.
