City police say a man faces charges of assault with a weapon, threats, and mischief after threatening his family with a broom.
Yesterday morning a man was in his North Bay home with a family member when he started causing damage to the walls and to objects inside with a broom. Police add that he also threatened to harm the family member with the broom.
The family member was able to flee to a neighbour’s house without injuries and call police.
They found and arrested the attacker at his residence. He was held in custody for a bail hearing today.
North Bay Police arrested and charged an 18-year old man with:
- One count of assault with a weapon;
- One count of uttering threats
- One count of mischief under $5,000; and
- One count of breach of probation.
Police say in order to protect the identity of the victim, they will not be releasing the name of the accused.
