A member from the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle, on Highway 17 in Bonfield Township, Ontario on Dec. 22, at 5:15 p.m.
At the time of the collision, the officer was responding to another occurrence.

The OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
