A 20 year old Timmins man remains in hospital in serious condition after being shot several times following an altercation at a Cedar Street North address on Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call Timmins Police.

Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for many northern Ontario cities. Temperatures over the next couple of days will reach into the 30’s with high humidity levels. Protect yourself by staying in cool places and drink plenty of water.

Ontario’s top doctor is linking climate change to the spread of tick borne illnesses. Doctor Kieran Moore says he expects to see a growing number of cases in addition to Lyme disease. Moore says anyone who has found a tick attached to them should see a doctor if they get a fever within the next month.

A Sudbury cobbler recently struck gold at a competition in Germany. Daniel Frappier picked up the hardware at the Inter-Schuh-Service ISS 2023, the country’s international shoe repair competition.. The event is billed as the world’s largest exhibition for cobblers, shoe makers and shoe repairers.

In sports, the Toronto Raptors have made it official and signed their first overall pick, Gradey Dick. As per team policy, terms of the deal weren’t released. Wimbledon is underway and Venus Williams is the first big name casualty losing her first round match. Jays kick off a series tonight in Chicago against the White Sox.
