What do you think of those rumble strips on the highways, AKA sleeper lines, audible lines, "the corduroy", growlers, and "woo woo" boards.
These are a road safety feature to alert inattentive drivers of potential danger, by causing a tactile vibration and audible rumbling transmitted through the wheels into the vehicle interior.
In the winter months, I have experienced the result of driving over these.
I am comfortably asleep in the car, dreaming of Betty, on the way to Mummu’s, and Mom drives on a section of these strips. I bounce around like a bingo ball in the blower!
I love my mom, but must say I growl under my breath over this.
She does apologize to me, and I forgive her of course, but still — bingo ball in a blower! Dream of Betty interrupted!
Of course, we have never come close to the ditch, so they are brilliant and work well.
So, I was just wondering, are you one of those people who falls asleep in the car (and is sometimes rudely awakened by a rumble strip)?
