I Was Just Wondering: Should Finn become a therapy dog?

It’s a pretty cool gig, but Finn the Griffin has some reservations

Finn the Griffin wonders if he has what it takes to become a therapy dog.

What do you think about therapy animals?

I think I was offered the opportunity to be a therapy pet.

My dad has had visits from therapy dogs since he is at a rehabilitation centre, and he loves it.  Mom told me he still loves me the most though, so I'm relieved about that!

It's a pretty cool gig. The animals visit people who are under the weather, for all different reasons, and simply bring joy to their day.  They pet you, and rub you and play with you, and it certainly is win-win.

I'm not sure if I'm suited for this position since I do bark sometimes and I'm also shy sometimes; however, Mom is thinking about getting me into some training, so maybe I'll be a working dog in the near future.

So, do you like the idea of my becoming a therapy animal?

“I Was Just Wondering” is a Sunday feature on Sudbury.com from Finn, a Brussels griffon breed of dog, and his “mom”, Jaana Pirnes. Come back next week to see what Finn is up to. Got a question for Finn? You can email him at [email protected].
