The Canadian Garlic Festival may have been cancelled as of last year, but the Ukrainian Seniors' Centre now has another fundraiser — and celebration of yummy-yummy food —in its place.

The Ukrainian Food Fest takes place at the corner of Elm Street and Notre Dame Avenue starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26.

There will be a variety of homemade nibbler items to purchase including cabbage rolls, pyrohy, sausage tartlets, garllos, savory chicken, baked beans, vegetarian chili, bruschetta focaccia and barbecue.

Garlic vendors will be on site.

The event will also include light entertainment and children's activities.

Admission is free. Bring an empty stomach and a healthy appetite. Assume there will be garlic.
