The Jazz Sudbury Festival will jazz up downtown Sudbury on Sept 8-9.

Performers run the gamut from traditional jazz to Juno-award winning blues artist Crystal Shawanda.

Juno-award winning jazz vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow, who was named Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2008 National Jazz Awards, names her influences as Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder.

Jazz Sudbury welcomes the return of guitarist extraordinaire Reg Schwager “who never ceases to amaze,” a press release from the festival stated.

The 2023 line-up includes multiple Juno nominees Danzal Sinclaire and Alex Bird as well as Cuban jazz duo Okan and Jazz fusion group Queen Kong

For a full listing of performances and a link to tickets at Place des Arts, go to the Jazz Sudbury website JazzSudbury.com.

The Saturday afternoon New Orleans-style Jazz Walk begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. Sunday's Alex Bird workshop/performance is at Kuppajo on Larch Street at 11 a.m.
