"When I close my eyes, in my imagination I see..." choreographer Anik Bourvette calls out. Four dancers finish her sentence in a soft, flowing trance of movement following "Les billes" (marbles) in a high-level professional performance.
Balls, lighted hula hoops and balloons are all part of this luminescent dance.
"Les Billes" features live musical acccompaniment and is being performed on tour in Carrefour Francophone's network of child care services. A part of their cultural programming, Carrefour Francophone and Tara Luz Danse have been collaborating since 2014.
The performances of Les Billes included a pre-show workshop that introduces kids to contemporary dance, and a post-show workshop helps them retain what they have seen and heard.
The January 27th performance was at 2 p.m. in the Salle de spectacle du Collège Boréal.
