In response to the article regarding Chinese
students don't feel welcome at university, I know racism is
prevalent at LU, and it is hard to be a foreign
Chinese student there. I go to Laurentian and
my parents also were foreign students who went to
Laurentian.
I experienced racism throughout all my
schooling until I attended the University of Toronto in my
first year of university. Everyone there was super nice because
I was no longer the minority.
It is sad to hear the students of LU treat
people differently because of race. So what if LU provides
services. It doesn't solve the problem.
And lastly to all the students at LU who are
friendly and nice to the foreign students, you have all my
respect. If there were more people like you, it would have made
my early school days much happier.
